About the Author

He is Hadrat Allama wa Mawlana Mufti Sayyid Sadat Ali al-Qadiri, rahmatullahi ta'ala alayhi. He was born in Aligarh (India) in 1935. He got his early education in Badayun where his father the late Mufti Sayyid Masud Ali al-Qadri, rahimahullah, was a teacher. After partition his family relocated to Multan. Mawlana Sadat Ali graduated from Anwar al-Uloom Multan, where his teachers included the renowned scholar Ghazali al-Zaman Mawlana Allama Ahmad Saeed Shah Kazmi, rahimahullah. In early sixties he moved to Karachi and became Khatib of Masjid Qassaban Saddar. He also did MA in Islamic studies from Karachi University and remained teacher at Dehli College and Mary Classo, Saddar.

 

He was one of the founders of Jama'at Ahl al-Sunnat. As Secretary Jam'iat Ulama-e-Pakistan Sindh. In the early 70's he went to Surinam, South America, at that time a Dutch Colony as a Islamic preacher. When Surinam became independent in 1975. Mawlana Sadat Ali migrated to the Netherlands where he founded the Al-Qadiri Islamic Centre.
 

After Imam as-Shaykh Shah Ahmad Noorani, rahmatullahi ta'ala alayhi, he was considered the most famous Sunni Aalim in Den Haag, Holland. He was writer of several books, which were translated into English, Dutch and French. In his early days he wrote a book Islami Aqaid for Aligarh Old boys Association school, which was included in school syllabus.

He passed away after an illness in July 2009, being Shaban 1430 After Hijri. He was 74 years of age and left behind a widow, a son and 3 daughters besides a large number of disciples to mourn his death.
