Description :

Diwan al-Mutanabbi - is one of the classical works of Arabic literature. It was written by one of the greatest Arab poets of his time Abu Tayyab al-Mutanabbi.

Mizan al-Mutarabbi : This work is the explanation (sharh) in urdu by Shaykh Nafees Ahmad Misbahi, Hafizullah. This text is used in many Dars e Nizami syllabus.

Abu Tayyab al-Mutanabbi :

He is Abu Tayyib Ahmad Ibn Al-Husayn al-Jufi, better known as Al-Mutanabbi. He was born [302h.] in the southern Iraqi city of Kufa of Yemeni parents. Al-Mutanabbi showed signs of intelligence and unusual linguistic ability from an early age. Through hardship he decided to earn a living writing poetry, and travelled from city to city to seek recognition until he reached the Royal court of the ruler of Aleppo; Saif al-Dawla where he stayed for nine years.

After further travelling from Damascus, Egypt and Iraq, al-Mutanabbi was killed [d.354h] by some wandering bandits. Al-Mutanabbi's work was hugely influential over later Arabic poetry.
