He is al-Imam al-Hafidh Qutb al-Din Abi Bakr Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Qastallani [d.686h], rahmatullahi ta'ala alayhi. He is also known to have authored Marasid al-Salat fi Maqasid al-Salat. Not to be confused with Imam Shibab al-Din al-Qastallani d.923h], rahmatullahi ta'ala alayhi, author of Irshad al-Sari Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari and Mawahib al-Laduniyya, Sirat al-Muhammadiyya.
