About the Author: He was Shibab al-Din Abu al-'Abbas Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn Hajar al-Haytami al-Makki al-Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, popularly known as Ibn Hajar al-Haytami al-Makki, radi Allahu ta'ala anhu. Ibn Hajar was a famous Muhaddith and theologian of Islam. As well as being a master of hadith, the shaykh was revered as an authority in Islamic Jurisprudence [fiqh] and well known as a prolific writer of the Shafi'i school. With al-Imam Ahmad al-Ramli, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi, he represents the foremost resource for fatawa (legal opinion) for the entire late Shafi'i school. After a lifetime of outstanding scholarship, Imam ibn Hajar passed away & was laid to rest in Makkah in 974 H.
