Description :
The Qur'an not only leads us towards a better understanding of who Jesus was, but also, through that understanding, it increases our respect and love for him. The last Revelation, coming as it did some six hundred years after the birth of Jesus, tells what is important for us to know about his life and teachings, and places his role as Prophet in the vast perspective that the Unitarians realised lay behind prophecy itself. The Qur'an alone gives us that perspective - which no other source today can provide.
'Jesus in the Qur'an' is especially for those who believe in Jesus but are unaware of the high regard and love for Jesus and his mother Mary that Muslims share, blessings and peace be on them - a love which is inspired primarily by what the Qur'an says about both of them.
This small volume lays out the various verses in the Qur'an that mention both Jesus and Mary - blessings and peace be on them. The first edition of 'Jesus in the Qur'an' was simply Chapter Eleven of the first edition of 'Jesus, Prophet of Islam' by Muhammad Ata'ur-Rahim and Ahmad Thomson, first published by Diwan Press in 1977. This Revised edition solely uses the modern Qur'an translation; ''The Noble Qur'an - A New Rendering of its Meaning'' in English by Shaykh Abdalhaqq and Aisha Bewley.
