Bulugh Al-Maram Min Adillat Al-Ahkam is based upon the Ahadith (tradition) of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad, may Allah Bless Him & Shower His Mercy upon him, which have been the sources of Islamic Jurisprudence. Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani, may Allah be pleased with him, has recorded the true significance of the Ahadith and their origins & also made a comparison of the versions, if the sources are more than one.


This book was originally written and compiled in the 8th century by the great scholar Imam Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, may Allah be pleased with him. This book contains a collection of some of the Ahadith found in the sihah sita (the 6 authentic hadith collections, namely Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, An Nisa'i, Ahmad and At-Tirmidhi, may Allah be pleased with them all. Among the topic that this book covers are subjects ranging from marriage, business transactions to other more implicit aspect of the religion such as the five pillars.


The book is well marked with footnotes and complicated terms have been explained in the sub notes. Because of these qualities Bulugh al-Maram has been widely accepted and is amongst the most sought after books.





About the Author:


Al Hafidh Ibn Hajr Al-'Asqalani, may Allah be pleased with him, was born on Sha'ban 773H in Egypt, He was Shaykh al Islam Imam Al-Haafidh Abul Fadl Shihabuddin Ahmad ibn Ali ibn Muhammad Al-Kinani Ash-Shafi'i. Not to be confused with a similar sounding name of another prominent scholar of Islam Al-Hafidh Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali (736H - 795H). Ibn Hajr died in Dhu'l Hijja, 852H.


Ibn Hajr authored more than 150 books - most of them being in study of Hadith - which flourished during his lifetime, kings and princes were known in his time to exchange gifts consisting of Ibn Hajr's works. His other most famous book is Fath ul Baari fi Sharh Sahih Bukhari : a commentary on the superb collection of Hadith by Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail Al-Bukhari (the most famous and well-informative commentary on Sahih Bukhari).


Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani was a prominent Qadi in Egypt as well as in Ash-Sham (Syria) for twenty-one years. He was humble, tolerant, and patient. He was described to be steadfast, prudent, ascetic, selfless, generous, charitable, and he spent much time in voluntary prayer and fasting. Those who came to know him praised him of his high standard of good mannerisms in dealing with rulers, Imams, as well as those who sat with him young or old.
