Shaykh Fariduddin Attar, rahmatullahi 'alayhi, was one of the earliest Sufi poets of Persia, and there is no doubt that the work of Attar was the inspiration of Mawlana Rumi, rahmatullahi 'alayhi, and of many other spiritual souls and poets of Persia.
