Description :

Al-Targib wa 'al-Tarhib is a collection of authentic ahadith that are selected from different source books of ahadith on different subjects, like good deeds that bring varying degrees of reward, and evil deeds/wrongs that call for retribution (Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil).


The Ahadith are narrated only to give glad tidings and to warn - to create awareness and to admonish, so that one may be encouraged to do good deeds and refrain from evil deeds.

This edition by Dar al-Hadith, Egypt is a Two Volume Set, which has been divided into the four parts. It is a decent two colour print on white graded paper. See images below for sample pages.

About the Author :

He is Al-Shaykh al-Imam al-Hafiz Zaki al-Din Abd'ul-Azim al-Mundhiri (Munziri), was originally from Syria and born in the month of Sha'ban, 581 Hijri. He was a renowned researcher (muhaqqiq) and a well known scholar according to Shafi'i school of thought, and a Master in Hadith, Arabic language and history. Amongst his works that had gained popularity and praiseworthiness amongst the Ulema were :

    *** Al-Takmila al-Wafiyyat al-Naqla,
    *** Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim,
    *** Mukhtasar Sunan Abi Dawud.


Imam al-Mundhiri, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi, passed away in 656 AH in Egypt.
