Islam Corrects Judaism: The Polemics of a Thirteenth Century Jewish Convert,
Paperback - 72 pages,
by Sidney Adams Weston.
Description : '' Kitab Masalik an Nazar ''
This work is the exposition of an Alexandrian Muslim Jew, Sa’id Ibn Hasan, at the turn of 14th century. Sa’id was a Jewish convert to Islam who felt compelled to record for posterity his understanding of the truth of Islam over Judaism. In his view he was doing a service to his former religion through this work, which offers its reader insight into the complex world of conversion and religious polemic in the late middle ages. Hasan was a zealot for his new faith and believed that it should be aggressively installed as the only religion. In this way his Kitab is a window into a strain of fanatical Islam found in Egypt at this time. Dr. Sidney A. Weston edits this text for the first time and offers an English translation and notes, making it accessible to the scholar and enthusiast alike.
