Surah al-Sajdah is the 32nd chapter (surah) of the Noble Qur'an and contains 30 verses. (ayat). It is a Mekkan Surah. The name of the chapter has been translated as 'prostration'  or 'adoration' and is taken from the fifteenth verse, which mentions those who "... fall prostrate and hymn the praise of their Lord".

According to Ahadith, Surah al-Sajdah has many virtues, including: 

Protection on the day of Resurrection: On the day of resurrection, Surah al-Sajdah will have two wings and provide shade to its reciters. It will also tell Angels not to seize any of its reciters.

Recitation before Sleep: The Prophet Muhammad, salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, would not go to sleep without reciting Surah al-Sajdah and Surah al-Mulk.

Recitation between Maghrib and Isha : Reciting Surah al-Sajdah and Surah al-Mulk between Maghrib and Isha is said to be the same as keeping vigil on Laylat al-Qadr.
