''With particular reference to Abu al-Qasim al-Qushayri''
*[A5] Paperback - 176 pages,
Compiled by Rashid Ahmad ,
Published by Islamic Book Trust, Malaysia.
Description :
This work gives a particular reference to Abu al-Qasim al-Qushayri,
may Allah be pleased with him, the author of the Sufi work,
al-Risalah, who wrote a complete commentary of the Qur'an, which is regarded as the first 'mystical' commentary, a fusion of
Shariah and
Tariqah.
The author studies the history of this
tafsir, the science of Qur'anic
tafsir and its development, aiming to show how
Sufi scholars too have given a new life to the interpretation of the Qur'an.
Imam Abul Qasim Al-Qushayri :
Imam al-Qushayri,
Radi Allahu anhu, was the student of the leading sufi scholar of the time; Shaykh Abu `Ali al-Daqqaq,
may Allah be pleased with him. Al-Qushayri, was a
muhaddith [master of
aHadith] who transmitted hadith to pupils by the thousands in Naysabur, in which he fought the
Mu`tazila until he flew to Makkah to protect his life. He was also a
mufassir who wrote a complete commentary of the Qur'an entitled
Lata'if al-isharat bi tafsir al-Qur'an (The subtleties and allusions in the commentary of the Qur'an).
