Description :
A Translation and Transliteration of Adhkar Ad'iyah and Salawat including the Ratib Al-Haddad. Compiled by Professor Ghoesain Mohamed.
" The prime reason for the translation and transliteration of the Adhkar, Salawat, Qasa'id and the Ad'iyah is to empower us, in order for us to understand, internalise, reflect and act on the meanings of the Qur'anic verses, the invocatory expressions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and on the inspirational invocations of our pious predecessors.
This revised compilation has valuable end-notes and a glossary to explain the meanings of untranslatable Arabic words, Islamic concepts, Qur'anic quotations and Ahadith. " ----Ghoesain Muhammad.
Extract from the Preface :
Professor Ghoesain Mohamed has done a commendable service in compiling this book of well known Muslim prayers and liturgies with English translation and transliteration. Also noteworthy is the theoretical contributions of the compiler. He introduces perspectives on the crucial practice of Dhikr not previously seen in written form. It is best left to the reader to decide for him or herself on the relevance, usefulness and truth of those views.
The intention of the writer of course, is not to reduce the sacred practice of Dhikrullah to the more recent scientific theories of the world around us, but he clearly demonstrates the amazing leaps contemporary scientific theory has made, and the possibility it now provides, of accomodating and explaining religious phenomenon more easily than before.
