Drawing on rigorous proofs from the Qur’an and authentic Hadith, Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad ‘Alawi al-Maliki, may Allah be pleased with him, makes clear the miraculous nature of the life of the Prophets in the Barzakh, and addresses several harmful misconceptions that have become prevalent among the Ummah today regarding these matters.

The Author:

Shaykh al-Sayyid Muhammad bin ‘Alawi bin Abbas al-Maliki al-Hasani, rahimahullah, was one of the foremost traditional Islamic scholars of contemporary times, and without doubt, the most highly respected and loved scholar of the holy city of Makkah and the entire Hijaz region (Western Arabia).
 

The Shaykh is a grandson of the Prophet ?, a leader of the Ahl al-Bayt, the Imam of Hadith in our age, an authority of the four Madhhabs, a spiritual leader of the highest calibre, a caller to Allah par excellence, and unparalleled in his standing in the world of traditional Islamic scholarship.
 

Visiting him was considered imperative for the Ulama who would visit Makkah. He was born in Makkah in 1365/1944 and was a world-renowned scholar who spent his life teaching and writing. He held many prestigious positions, including religious instructor at the Haram Mosque after his father, professor at the Faculty of Sharia, King ?Abd al-?Aziz University, Makkah, 1390–1399 AH, and an active member of the Muslim World League. He passed away in Makkah in 1425/2004.
