Since the time it was published, Riyad as-Salihin has been a must read on the way to deepening in Islamic teaching.
This abridgement of of Imam al-Nawawi's Riyad al-Salihin (The Meadows [or Gardens] of the Righteous) is based on the format of Mukhtasar Riyad as-Salihin, by Shaykh Yusuf ibn Isma'il an-Nabhani. In addition , it incorporates the commentary on its hadiths found in Nuzhat al-Muttaqin; Sharh Riyad as-Salihin, by Dr. Mustafa Sa'id Khin, Mustafa al-Bugha, Muhyi ad-Din Mistu, 'Ali ash-Shirbaji, and by Muhammad Amin Lutfi.
The intended result is to provide an edition of this essential compilation which is at once self-explanatory in terms of the meaning of each hadith for the lives of the Muslims, comprehensive in the breadth of topics it includes and concise and accessible enough to constitute a regular source of reference to both students of the Din and lay believers.

C.E.] is one of the great Sufi scholars, strictest latter-time
hadith masters, and most meticulous of jurists, 'Shaykh al-Islam' al-Imam Muhyiddin Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi is with
al-Rafi`i as the principal reference of the late
Shafi`i school.
His books remain authoritative in the methodology of the law, in Qur'an commentary, and in
hadith. His commentary of
Sahih Muslim is second only to Ibn Hajar's commentary of
Sahih Bukhari. Allah Almighty gave his famous compilation of Forty
Hadiths more circulation and fame than possibly any other book of
hadith, large or small, and has allowed an-Nawawi to be of immense benefit to the Community of Islam.

About Imam al-Nabahani :
He is Imam Yusuf b. Isma‘il al-Nabahani, alayhi ar-Rahman w'al-Ridwan, (1265–1350 AH), hadith scholar, Sufi, jurist, judge, and biographer, was born in Beirut, Lebanon.
A prolific author, Imam al-Nabahani left behind a staggering collection of works in hadith, fiqh, theology, and most famously, poetry and prose in praise of our Master Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Al-Nabahani was a paragon of prophetic love (‘ishq) and his works continue to exercise a profound influence on popular Muslim spirituality.
