Masters of Wisdom of Central Asia

Masters of Wisdom of Central Asia,
*[A5] Paperback - 168 pages,
by Hasan Lutfi Shuhud,
Translated into English by Muhtar Holland.

Description :

Almost a thousand years ago a new and powerful nexus of spiritual transmission emerged in Central Asia, reaching its culmination in the work of the Khwajagan or "Masters of Wisdom". Like the much earlier 'Rishi Pantha' of India, the Khwajagan were men with  with families, who sometimes maintained quite active and forceful connections within society. They exerted a remarkable influence on the destiny of Central Asia but their essential significance lies in their almost unparalleled depth of spiritual mastery.

Among the Masters' inspirational founders were Ahmad al-Yasavi of Chinese Turkestan, the father of Turkish Sufism and Baha' al-Din Naqshband, from whom the Naqshbandi Order of Sufis took its name.

Based on primary Persian and Turkish texts, the 'Masters of Wisdom of Central Asia' contains material of great value that has never before been available in English. The author J.G.Bennett referred to these texts in his account of 'higher intelligence' and the Sufi authority, Sayed Idries Shah, often refers to them in his books when writing about the Khwajagan. Here for the first time, however, the reader can have access to source material.

The 'Masters of Wisdom of Central Asia' comes from the source of Sufi Teaching. It is an indispensable work for anyone interested in Sufism, in part or in totality.
