Description :  

Stations of the Sufi Path' is a new translation of a key Sufi text and the first Persian work to address the stages, or stations, of the 'Sufi way.' Its author, Shaykh al-Islam, Abdullah Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, was born in 1006CE in Herat in present-day Afghanistan, and is considered one of the greatest as well as one of the earliest of the Persian Sufi scholars whose works constitute an important contribution to the intellectual history of Islam.
 

Detailed descriptions of each 'station' make this work an esoteric masterpiece, now almost one thousand years old, that invites the reader on a spiritual journey of self-discovery.

 

Shaykh Abu Ismaïl Abdullah al-Herawi al-Ansari
, may Allah be pleased with him, or Khawajah Abdullah Ansari of Herat (1006–1088), also known as Pir-i Herat (the sage of Herat) was a famous Persian Sufi who lived in the 11th century in Herat (then Khurasan, now Herat province, Afghanistan). One of the outstanding figures in Khurasan in the 5th/11th century: commentator of the Noble Qur'an, traditionist, polemicist, and Sufi Master, known for his oratory and poetic talents in Arabic and Persian.
