Al-Shaykh Al-Imām Ahmad Rida Khān (b. 1272 AH/1856 CE), alayhi ar-Rahman w'al-Ridwan, was a renowned Hanafī jurist, hadīth expert and theologian par excellence, recognised by scholars from the Islamic world to be a reviver of his era.
AlaHadrat, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi, was a prolific writer whose legal edicts were gathered into numerous encyclopedic volumes and covered almost every science of his day. He is known to have authored in excess of 1000 books.
Mufti Faiz Ahmad Owaisi :
He is Muffasir al-A'zam, Manazir al-Ahl al-Sunnah, Ustad al-Ulama, Faiz e Millat, Hadrat Allama wa Mawlana Mufti Shaykh Muhammad Faiz Ahmad Owaysi al-Qadiri, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi. He was born in 1932 in a village called Pakka Larhaan (district Rahimyaar Khan) Pakistan, but settled in Bhawalpur. Faiz e Millat was an ocean of knowledge, as a teacher of Qur'an and Hadith, of Islamic juriprudence, as a debator, translator, orator and one of the most prolific authors of of the century.
He had a particular zeal for writing from a very young age. It is not known exactly how many books were authored by qibla Faiz e Millat, but it is believed it could be in excess of a thousand rather than in the hundreds. Suffice to say, he wrote on virtually all of the sciences of the Deen, and whatever was the prevalent issue of the time in his own unique style.
Faiz e Millat was a student of Muhaddith al-A'zam (Pakistan) Shaykh Sardar Ahmad Khan, rahimahullah. He received khilafat from Mufti Azam al-Hind, Shaykh Mustafa Rida Khan al-Qadir al-Noori, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi, and was an ardent admirer of AlaHadrat Shaykh Imam Ahmad Rida Khan, alayhi ar-Rahman w'al-Ridwan.
Faiz e Millat passed away 16 Ramadan 1431 After Hijri (26th August 2010). He is laid to rest at Jamiya Uwaysia Rizawiya, Bhawalpur, Pakistan. He left behind four sons (all Alim's) and a daughter.
