Diwan Hassan bin Thabit al-Ansari is a collection of beautiful poetry of the Sahabi al-Rasul, the Noble Companion Hassan ibn Thabit al-Ansari, radi Allahu ta'ala anhu, who is sometimes called "the poet of the Prophet" salla Alllahu alayhi wa sallam.

Hassan ibn Thabit al-Ansari lived in Madina, and was of mature age when the Prophet Muhammad, salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, settled there. He was already an established poet and had found favour as a composer of eulogies on visits to the court of the Arab Princes of the Ghassanid dynasty.


Hassan soon accepted Islam and became the most conspicuous of those who were able to use their talent for verse to serve the new religion of Islam and praise its Prophet, salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. He lived on to a great age after the Beloved Prophet's, ?, passing away, perhaps largely in retirement; his own death most probably occurred in 659_C.E.
