Description :
Ruh al-Ma'ani fi Tafseer al-Quran al-'Azim wa al-Sab al-Mathan, or simply referred to as Tafsir Ruh al Ma'ani, is the 15 volume tafaseer of the Noble Qur'an compiled with 2 juzz within each volume. It is the work of the renowned Sunni scholar from Baghdad; Imam Sayyid Mahmud al-Alusi, rahmatullahi ta'al 'alayhi.
Imam al-Alusi has carefully researched many previous tafasir and bridged a gap in the critical explanation between the early classical editions with the more recent ones from the previous century. In doing this he has also provided explanations in many sciences, such as ahkam, balaghah, etc, with different meanings according to different readings.
The Author:
He is Al-Imam Abu al-Thana' Abu al-Fadl Shihab ad-Din Sayyid Mahmud
ibn 'Abd Allah al-Ḥusayni al-Alusi al-Baghdadi al-Hanafi, rahmatullahi ta'a'a 'alayhi. 10
December 1802 – 1854). He was a notable scholar from Baghdad, Iraq perhaps best known for
writing Ruh al-Ma`ani, a tafsir (exegesis) of the Qur'an.
This Edition :
Overall this is a good print, decent layout, etc. (See images below for sample pages). There are some areas for attention in regards to the condition. Whilst there are the usual bruises and bumps, which is 'normal' for sub continental books, this edition also has some staining on the pages in the first volume in the muqadima. The text is perfectly readable but the stains are evident in the first 20 odd pages. Also in this first volume there are several loose pages (have come away from the binding); this has been reflected in the asking price.
*Single Volume Dimensions : 24 x 19.2cm.
