This book is the fourth abridgement of Nihatil Matlab fi Darayatil Madhab by Imam al-Juwayni, alayhi ar-Rahman.  Imam Ghazzali, alayhi ar-Rahman, has abridged that book three times, before it developed into this book. Initially he called it al-Basit, then al-Wasit, then al-Wajiz and then finally al-Khulasat. It is one of the most often used books in the shafi'i madhhab.
