Description :

This new publication contains two beautiful books combined into one single volume. The first part of this volume, Visiting the Prophet (Ziyarah al-Mustafa), was excerpted from Manasik al-Hajj (The Rites of Hajj) by the gnostic and lover of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, al-Imam al- Shaykh Abdullah Sirajuddin al-Husayni, rahimahullah.

The second part of this volume, The Virtues of Medina Munawarra & Masjid al-Nabawi, comprises of Forty Hadith compiled by one of the last judges (Qadi) of the Ottoman Empire, the erudite scholar, Shaykh Yusuf Isma'il al-Nabahani, may Allah be well-pleased with both of our authors!. It is an excerpt from his book 40 Forty-Hadith Collections, which covers a broad-range of important topics, this being the translation of the 24th collection.

And last but not least, a Commentary on the Blessed Names of Medina Munawara has been presented as an appendix, because as the Arab adage has it: the multitude of names for a thing indicates its importance’, and nothing is more dear to the heart of a Muslim than Medina.

He is Imam 'Abdallah b. Mujammad Najib Sirajuddin al-HalabI al-Husayni, rahimahullah, and is one of greatest scholars that the Syrian city of Aleppo—known in  the Levant as “the city of scholars”—has ever known. He was a true friend of Allah Almighty, an extraordinary saint who dedicated his entire life to the service of Islam. His qualities were many and his skills outstanding.

Imam 'Abdallah, known as “the Light of Aleppo,” was a renowned spiritual master of the Rifa'i path, an expert in Hanafi jurisprudence, a Sufi' and brilliant exegete of the Qur'an, as well as a scholar and Hafidh of Hadith, having memorised more than one hundred thousand traditions. He was most famous, however, for his immense and intense love for our master Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah.

Imam 'Abdallah wrote more than thirty books dealing with Islamic spirituality, creed, ethics, and the noble manners of the Messenger of Allah, the sciences of Hadith and exegesis of the Qur'an. One of his famous works is the book of which we have the translation before us today: An Explanation of the Bayquni Poem in Hadith Terminology.

Imam 'Abdallah’s students were numerous, many of them becoming prominent scholars themselves, such as his son Shaykh Ahmad Sirajuddin, his nephew and son-in-law Shaykh Nur al-Din 'Itr,  Shaykh Samir  al-Nass, Shaykh Muhammad 'Awwama  and Shaykh Muhammadal-Ninowy, may Allah preserve them.

Following a surgical operation carried out towards the end of his  life, the health of Imam 'Abdallah deteriorated. On the 4th of March 2002 CE [1422 H.] he returned to his Lord. The news of his passing was announced throughout the Muslim world and covered it with a veil of sorrow. Imam 'Abdallah Sirajuddin al-Husayni was buried in the Sha?b?niyya complex, next to the graves of its Ottoman founders.

He is Al-Shaykh al-Imam al-Qadi Yusuf ibn Isma‘il ibn Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Nabahani, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi (1265–1350 AH). He was a renowned hadith scholar, Sufi, jurist, judge, and biographer. He was descended from the Banu Nabhan, an Arab desert folk who settled of old in the town of Ijzim, North of the holy sites in the land of Palestine, presently part of the district (qada') of Haifa in 'Akka, a province of Beirut. Shaykh al-Nabahani was born in Ijzim in 1265/1849 approximately.

He studied under his noble father al-Shaykh al-Hafidh Ismail al-Nabahani, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi, thereafter he spent 6 years studying the sacred sciences at Al-Azhar, Cairo. After graduating he returned to his home town and started teaching. His frequent travels took him from Beirut, Damascus, Constantinople  and Iraq where he met many eminent Ulama. He was offered the role of Judge (qadi) which led him to many senior positions as the Chief Qadi in Beirut and also in al-Quds al-Sharif.
