The Author : Abu 'Abd al-Rahman Muhammad Tahir bin al-Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir bin Muhammad al-Kurdi, may Allah have mercy upon him, was born in Makkah 1321 Hijri after his father migrated from Iraq to Makkah. He was raised in a religious enviroment by his parents in a household of deep knowledge where his father reached the age of 90. He travelled to Cairo but was known to have mainly studied in Makkah. Shaykh al-Kurdi studied with Shaykh 'Abd al-Aziz al-Rifa'i, Shaykh 'Afnadi, Shaykh Ali al-Badawi amongst others.
