During the days when rich men were busy accumulating wealth and enjoying various pleasures of their way of life, there was also a man, Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, who was entirely different from them. In spite of being the son of a rich merchant he never had pride of his valuable assets. If he had wished  he could have enjoyed the luxuries of life, but Uthman condemned such a lifestyle. He instead preferred to spend a major portion of his wealth on the poor, and was well known for his genoristy, chastity and modesty.


The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, once said that Uthman was such a modest man, that even the Angels felt shy whenever they saw him.


This book is a brief biographical sketch of the third Khalifah, Sayyiduna Uthman Ibn Affan, may Allah be pleased with him.
