Description :

'Stories of the Prophet's' (Qasas al-Ambiya) : Believing in all the Messengers and Prophets - form Adam, peace be upon him, to Sayyadina Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is one of the pillars of faith in Islam. Denying any of them is a form of kufr - disbelief - which if not repented leads to Hell-fire.

"The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord,
as do the believers. Each one (of them) believes in Allah, His Angels,
His Books, and His Messengers. " [al-Qur'an 2:285].

"We do relate to you (O' Muhammad, ?,) the best of stories in what
We have related to you the Qur'an, although you were, before it, among
the unaware." [al-Qur'an 12:3].

"So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought."
[al-Qur'an 7:176].

The renowned mufassir (exegete), muhaddith (expert in hadith) and historian Al-Imam al-Hafiz Isma'il ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy upon him, has compiled the Stories of the Prophets from the Qur'an and the narration of the Prophet, Blessings and Peace be upon him.

The book is thus unique in its content, dealing with the important events of the Prophets and Messengers, from Adam the first Prophet to Jesus, peace be upon them all. As for the Beloved Prophet Muhammad, ?, numerous books have been written and compiled about his sirah (biography) as well as shama'il (personality and characteristics. See the link below.

Imam ibn Kathir: The author of this book was one of the leading scholars of the 8th century of Islam (the 14th of the Christian era). Born in Busra, Syria, around the turn of that century, Isma'il Abu'l-Fadl `'Umar Ibn Kathir, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi, was educated chiefly in Damascus, initially specialising in the study of Hadith.

Ibn Kathir achieved prominence as a highly versatile scholar. He produced a tafsir (commentary) on the Holy Qur'an, as well as several noteworthy volumes in the field of Hadith and fiqh (jurisprudence). But Ibn Kathir, who died at Damascus in 774/1373, was also a historian. His treatise on the tarikh (history) of Islam, from which this book (The Beginning and The End - Al-Bidayah w'al-Nihayah) extends to fourteen volumes in the printed edition.
