Description :

This book narrates the life of Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, shedding light upon segments of his life that are either neglected or glossed over in conflict-focused biographies. The narrations in this book revolve around the Prophet's, ﷺ, various strategies of diplomacy and reconciliation to avoid conflicts. In narrating these events, the book helps the readers broaden their perspective on the life of the Messenger of God, ﷺ, and better capture the ethos of his life.

Indeed, both Muslims and non-Muslims may benefit from this understanding at a time when violent extremist groups such as ISIS are causing carnage with their brutality while dressing their totalitarian ideologies in Muslim garb. The book exposes the hypocritical and willful deception of these radical groups which cherry-pick incidents and sayings from the Prophet's, ﷺ, life, decontextualize them, and abuse them to serve their perverted ideologies.

The extensive evidence presented in this book will not only dispel many myths about the life and message of the Noble Prophet, ﷺ, but also show how through compassionate efforts he conquered the hearts of people around him and turned them from die-hard enemies to devoted faithful friends.

This work comprises Three Major Sections :

The lengthy introduction provides a summary of events in Mecca starting from the pre-Islamic era and aims to understand why its people, who for forty years referred to God's Messenger by the honorific "the trustworthy" (al-Amin) changed all at once and turned him into the target of their hatred and hostility.

Section One presents the Prophetic stance in the face of all manner of violence and conflict, and examines at length the ways that the Messenger, ﷺ, paved to win over people's hearts under the most difficult conditions. The section also elucidates in detail the kinds of initiatives God's Messenger, ﷺ, took in order to affect the hearts of his addressees, even at times when, after all the events that had transpired, negative feelings threatened to predominate over reason and sound judgement.

Section Two discusses how transformation was achieved in the Era of Happiness. It attempts to set out the broad arena in which the Prophetic Methodology was employed and to articulate the meaning of its steps for our day. This section, which can also be understood as the method and manner of softening hearts and being purged of all problems, is important in that it relates to us how the problems of today's world can be solved. It describes the milestones of transformation and sheds light on the principles we need to follow with a Prophetic sensitivity in order to serve others; it lays down succinctly the precise foundations upon which the luminous world of tomorrow may arise.

Section Three is the third and final section which centers on the conquest of Mecca and contains a discussion of the fruit of twenty-one years. It depicts the Messengers, ﷺ, personal visits to those who had not responded favourably to his call. Here we see the birth of a new spring with the Sun of Mercy rising again over Mecca, and the melting away of the barriers built up until this time. Behind this, without a doubt lay great effort, patiently woven stitch by stitch. At the same time, this was a triumph with no losing side.
