Description :
The key secret to unlocking the Qur'an and experiencing its innumerable benefits and wisdoms, and receiving its endless guidance is that one must approach it the right way: with “adab.”
In Etiquette with the Qur'an (Al-Tibyan fi adab Mamalat al-Qur'an), Imam al-Nawawi, may Allah be pleased with him, explained the right conduct of the bearers of the Qur'an, and the characteristics of its memorisers and students. He did this by concisely presenting the merits of reciting and following the Qur'an; the conduct of its teachers, students, and everyone else; the etiquette of reciting and writing the Qur'an, and respecting its written form. Afterward, Imam al-Nawawi decided to reduce his book even further to make it even more accessible to the busy people of his age. This translation of his abridgement brings this benefit to the busy people of our own age.
About Imam al-Nawawi (d. 676/1277) Imam Muhy ad-Din Abi Zakariya Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi al-Dimashqi, May Allah be pleased with him, known simply as Imam Nawawi was born in the village of Nawa in Southern Syria. Imam Nawawi spent most of his life in Damascus where he lived in a simple manner, devoted to Allah, engaging single-mindedly in worship, study, writing and teaching various Islamic sciences.
Although best known for his works in hadith, Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi (d. 676/1277) was also the Imam of the later Shafi'i school of Jurisprudence, and widely acknowledged as the intellectual heir to Imam Shafi'i, May Allah be pleased with him.
