Usul Tarjuma wa Tafsir al-Qur'an : This work is the Urdu translation of Zubdat al-Itqan fi ‘Ulum al-Qur’an by the revered author and Sufi Scholar, Allama Shaykh Sayyad Alawi al-Hassani al-Maliki, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi.
The latter work being based on the classical text of Imam Jalal al-Din as-Suyuti, 'alayhi ar-Rahman w'al Ridwan, al-Itqan fi ‘Ulum al-Qur’an. The urdu tarjuma is by Mawlana Ghulam Nasir al-Din of Jamiya Naeemiya, Lahore.
Shaykh Sayyad ibn Alawi al-Maliki,

Born in Makkah in 1946 - Sayyid Muhammad ibn Alawi al-Maliki al-Hasani,
may Allah have mercy upon his soul, also died there in 2004 leaving a rich legacy of wide ranging Islamic literature and students who are now teaching the traditional Islamic sciences worldwide. His immense learning and charismatic persona established him as a pivotal figure throughout the Muslim world, having travelling far and wide - attracting large audiences wherever he went.
A gifted polymath he was an expert on many Islamic disciplines having written extensively on many of the traditional Islamic sciences including tenets of faith (
aqidah), jurisprudence (
fiqh),
hadith studies, biography (
sirah),
tasawwuf, and commentaries (
tafsir).
One of Sayyid
Alawis’ most celebrated works is
Muhammad: Al-Insan Al-Kamil in which he contends that the Message of Islam can only be perfect if the Messenger himself is blessed with perfection. Here the Sayyid’s extensive learning can be glimpsed as he begins to outline the Perfections of the Prophet using his vast knowledge of the Qur'an and Prophetic
Sunna. The book is essential reading and will increase the love of the Messenger of Allah,
may Allah bless him and grant him peace, which is an obligation for all.

Imam Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti,
alayhi ar-Rahman,
Imam Jalal al-Din as-Suyuti: `Abd al-Rahman ibn Kamal al-Din Abi Bakr, Jalal al-Din al-Misri al-Suyuti al-Shafi`i al-Ash`ari, also known as Ibn al-Asyuti (849-911), the mujtahid imam and renewer of the tenth Islamic century, foremost hadith master, jurist, Sufi, philologist, and historian, he authored works in virtually every Islamic science.
Born to a Turkish mother and non-Arab father and raised as an orphan in Cairo, he memorized the Qur'an at eight, then several complete works of Sacred Law, fundamentals of jurisprudence, and Arabic grammar; after which he devoted himself to studying the Sacred Sciences under about a hundred and fifty shaykhs. A giant among contemporaries, he remained alone, producing a sustained output of scholarly writings until his death at the age of sixty-two. He was buried in Hawsh Qawsun in Cairo.
