Abū Yazīd ʿAbdur Rahmān bin Muhammad al-Saghīr bin Muhammad bin ʿĀmir.
He is most commonly known as “al-Akhdarī.” He followed the Mālikī school in fiqh and the Ashʿarī
school in creed. He is considered to be from amongst the great scholars
of Islam and the distinguished scholars of Algeria in the 10th century Hijra.Shaykh
ʿAbdur Rahmān al-Akhdarī grew up in an environment filled with
knowledge and righteousness. His father, Muhammad al-Saghīr, gave him
what he need to have in terms of raising, knowledge, and manners.
Al-Akhdarī was aided in his search for knowledge by being very
