Description :

Al Imla' sharh Hadith Innama al-A'mal - This work is an extensive commentary of the Prophetic hadith "Actions are based on their Intentions" or 'Innama'l A'mal bi'l Niyyat'. This work was commenced by its author on Thursday, 23rd Rabi' al-Akhir 676 at Dar al-Hadith al-Ashrafiyyah, where he was teaching. This is also the year wherein Imam Nawawi passed away and therefore this is work is dated as a finality.

This book is a short biographical treasure, in the sense that it briefly mentions the biography of each and everyone in the chain of transmission, starting with the Prophet, salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, with thirteen biographies in total. It thereafter proceeds to mention where the hadith was collected, which chapters it is used in or utilised for. He thereafter mentions its variety of wordings and their meanings.

This book is part of the Imla' works or sessions of Imam Nawawi, dictated to Imam Ibn al-'Attar, the main inheritor and student of Imam Nawawi, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi.

The author : Imam an Nawawi, alayhi ar-Rahman w'al-Ridwan, [631–676 A.H. /1234–1277C.E.] is one of the great Sufi scholars, strictest latter-time hadith masters, and most meticulous of jurists, 'Shaykh al-Islam' al-Imam Muhyiddin Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi is with al-Rafi`i as the principal reference of the late Shafi`i school.

His books remain authoritative in the methodology of the law, in Qur'an commentary, and in hadith. His commentary of Sahih Muslim is second only to Ibn Hajar's commentary of Sahih Bukhari. Allah Almighty gave his famous compilation of Forty Hadiths more circulation and fame than possibly any other book of hadith, large or small, and has allowed an-Nawawi to be of immense benefit to the Community of Islam.
