Irshad al-'aql al-Salim ila Mazaya al-Kitab al-Karim - Tafsir Abu al-Su'ud - is the Qur'an tafsir (explanation) of Imam Muhammad ibn Muhammad Abu al-Su'ud, rahmatullahi ta'ala 'alayhi.




He is Muhammad ibn Muhammad Abu al-Su'ud Effendi (al-Sa'ud). He was also referred to as Al-Imadi as he descended from Imadiyye. He was the son of Shaykh Muhiy al-Din  Mehmed al-Effendi. Abu al-Su' ud served as judge in Bursa, Istanbul and Rumelia, where he brought local laws into conformity with Islamic law (shar'iah). Sultan Sulayman the Magnificent promoted him to Grand Mufti – supreme judge and highest official – an office Abu al-Su'ud held until his death and which he brought to the peak of its power.
