The Bad end of a Shaykh : It is said that once Sayyiduna Sufyan Thawri, Radi Allahu ta'ala anhu, and Sayyiduna Shayban Ra’i, Radi Allahu ta'ala anhu, were once sitting together. Sayyiduna Sufyan Thawri, continued to cry the entire night. When Sayyiduna Shayban Ra’i, radi Allahu ta'ala anhu, asked him the reason for this, he replied, “I am weeping in fear of having a 'bad end' at the time of death. I received education from a shaykh for 40 years. He worshipped for 60 years in Masjid-ul-Haram but he died in a state of Kufr (disbelief). Sayyiduna Shayban  replied, “Oh Sufyan! This was his misfortune due to his sins, you should therefore, never disobey Allah!.” ---(_{Sab’a Sanabil, P34, Maktaba Nuriah Razaviyyah, Sakhar}).
