Umar b. Muhammad Iwad al-Sunami [fl. 7-8th Century / 13-14th Century] Diya 'al-Din al-Shami, Allah be pleased with him. Little is known about this Hanafi scholar/jurist in the west.
The translator : Dr Mawil Izzi Dien [BA (Baghdad), PhD (Manchester)] is the senior lecturer at the Department of Theology, Religious Studies & Islamic Studies, University of Wales.
