The charismatic talents of Mufti al-A'zam (Imam Mustafa Rida Khan, rahimahullah) were exposed for the benefit of the Ummah. He was a man of humility and versatility. His whole life was encompassed by the preservation of Islamic teaching and the amelioration of the conditions of the entire humankind. Mufti al-Azam reminded the Muslims that if they required to reach their ultimate destination, they will need a divinely ordained route.

Mufti al-A'zam was a staunch follower of the shari'ah and adherent to the Sunnah. He loved the poor and abstained from the wealthy. Those who saw him used to say that by just looking at him, one remembers Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. The beloved Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had enunciated that this is the sign of a Wali [friend] of Allah.

Mufti al-A'zam.

He is al-Shaykh, al-Imam wa Mawlana Mustafa Rida Khan al-Qadiri, al-Barkati al-Noori, al-Hanafi, al-Baraylawi; Mufti al-A'zam al-Hind, rahimahullah. He was born on the 22nd of Dhul Hijjah 1310 hijri (July 1892) in Baraylawi Sharif, U.P. India. He was a renowned and formidable scholar of his own right, and is the son of arguably the greatest scholar of the two previous centuries, the Reviver and Reformer of Islam, the Imam of the Ahl al-Sunnah, AlaHadrat Shaykh Imam Ahmad Rida Khan, Fadil-e-Barelwi, 'alayhi ar-Rahman w'al-Ridwan.
