Shaykh al-Muhaqqiq; Abd al-Haq the Muhaddith of Delhi, may Allah be pleased with him, the noble author of this work discusses in detail the history of the illuminated City of Madinah al-Munawwarah.  His discussion involves the residents and the conditions of the sacred City before the Hijra of the exalted Messenger Sayyiduna Muhammad RasulAllah, salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam. Amazing historic facts are documented in this book which is of immense benefit to all.

The author also discusses the ethics of Ziyarah (visitation) of the sanctified Rawdah al-Muqaddas and reverence of the consecreated City of Allah's Beloved, salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam. The reader will certainly be thrilled to learn these historic facts and ethics found in this book and we trust that great benefit will be reaped therein.




Shaykh as-Shah Abd 'al-Haqq Muhaddith Dehlwi [ d. 1052 H - 1642 CE ] 'alayhi al-rahmah wa'l-ridwan, was born in Delhi, India. His father Saif al-Din, rahmatullahi alayh, was a very pious and intellectual man, and this is a reason why Shah 'Abd-al-Haqq, Rahmatullahi alayh's, education and breeding was based on similar well founded principles. He was extremely fond of education and had a particular zest for learning from a very young age. Many hours of the day and the night were spent in reading and writing.

After gaining his education in India, he was directed towards the Haramayn, Makkah in 996H. He stayed there for approx 3 and a half years, in which he attained his knowledge of Ahadith and also wrote numerous books. Some of the works and commentaries he authored are listed below

Shaykh 'Abd-al-Haqq, rahmatullahi alayh, passed away in 1052 after Hijri (being 1642 CE) at the age of 96, and is buried near the shrine of Khawaja Qutb al-Din Bakhtyar Kaki, rahmatullahi alayh, in Delhi, India.
