The life of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him & grant him peace, has been chronicled for us in the Qur'an, Hadith and books of biography (Seerah, Sira): through these we can trace the scent of his fragrance. Lovers follow the trail of their Beloved, and we have been blessed by an abundance of knowledge about our Prophet, may Allah bless him & grant him peace, such that more is known about him than known about any other person in history; what he said and to whom, how he behaved and how he lived, the description of his blessed form and perfection of his character (s), and much more besides.
It is a great bounty of Allah Most High the publishers were able to publish a unique Seerah in time for Mawlid last year., The life of the Beloved Prophet, and the flight to the Most Exalted, from the Hadith Bukhari narrated (Siratu 'l-habibi 'n-Nabiy, wa sayru il-al'Aliy, min ahadith-il Bukhariy). But whereas that had an authoritative base to it, namely the Sahih Hadith, this current work is a meagre attempt at presenting aspects of the Prophetic Seerah through verse.
Two previous volumes of Countless Salam have already been published. The Seerah is an amalgamation of these; a rearrangement of past material, but with exactly four times the additional content. The limitations of the author notwithstanding, and whilst accepting that the rhyme and metre are imperfect, I pray that it will be of some use still.
Four those who are unfamilar with the series, Countless Salaam is a collection of original English verse imitating- but not translating - the form and spirit of the famous urdu work Mustafa Jan e Rahmat of Imam Ahmad Rida Khan, alayhi ar-Rahman. It goes without saying that an endeavour such as this could never comprehensively cover all aspects of the Prophet's, may Allah bless him & grant him peace, life, but hopefully most of the key events are touched upon. The actual scope of the biography starts from time immemorial and culminates in the high Station of Praise that leads to Heaven's entry. Where the story goes from there, only God Knows, but we hope and pray that we are happy observers and participants of it, Amin.
*** Rearrangement of past content, with four times extra material,
*** 424 stanzas in total,
*** Inspired by the timeless Salaat-u Salaam of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan,
*** Piece of art and great gift,
*** All profits to charity,
*** Gold edges; printed on cream paper.
'The (Poetic) Seerah' covers the life, beauty and rank of the Beloved Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in English verse. It is a culmination of the 'Countless Salaam' series, which has been inspired by the timeless Salaat al-Salaam of the Muhaddith Imam Ahmad Rida Khan, alayhi ar-Rahman.
