Description :

This is a beautifully detailed gold ornament statue of an Ottoman soldier molded from a durable heavy mettalic polyester resin. The major significance of this item is the Jawshan al-Kabir or (Cevsen Kebir in Turkish) "the Great Armour" prayer inscribed in Arabic throughout the ornament.

Al-Jawshan Kabir is a long supplication of Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, - a prayer that contains 1000 Names and Attributes of Allah the Almighty. Jawshan means "steel plate" or "mail" and thus the name of the prayer refers to Prophet Muhammad's, ?, heavy armour in battle.

Allah Almighty taught the prayer to the Prophet, ?, as a protection from injuries in war, instead of wearing armour. The prayer is attributed to Sayyadina Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-Abidin and mentioned in Balad al-Amin.

I entreat You by Your Names :

   *** 'O the All-Kind and Caring,
   *** 'O the All-Bounteous and Favouring,
   *** 'O the Supreme Ruler and All-Requiting,
   *** 'O the All-Forgiving and Demonstrating,
   *** 'O the All-Proving and Demonstrating,
   *** 'O the Absolute, Eternal Authority,
   *** 'O the All-Glorified, Who is absolutely free from all deficiencies and imperfections and from doing anything wrong or in vain,
   *** 'O He Whose help is always sought,
   *** 'O the Owner of all bounty and goodness and eternal exposition,
   *** 'O He Whose protection is sufficient against all fear and danger, All-Glorified are You; there is no deity but You! Mercy! Mercy! Save us from the Fire!
