Description :

For the first time a door has been opened to invite younger children (as well as grown ups) to enter the world of Islamic art. Since the 7th century, Islamic artists, artisans, architects and craftsmen have attempted in their work to reflect their beliefs and cultural values in the most beautiful way they can in every medium and material available to them.

A subject that spans a millennium-and-a-half and covers every walk of life in every corner of the globe. With Discovering Islamic Art, Mary Beardwood invites younger children & adults to enter the world of Islamic art and what a world it is: one of beauty and inventiveness, spiritual depth and exquisite artistry.

'Discovering Islamic Art' simply and concisely introduces all the fundamental elements :

*** Calligraphy,
*** Arabesques,
*** Geometric patterns,
*** Pottery,
*** Architecture,

*** Landscapes and cityscapes,
